Would've been great if later on they'll show that Liz was actually interacting some of Alpha's people or Alpha herself, and they make her believe that the walkers can actually communicate with Liz and has morals. That would make the scene where Carol hallucinates Alpha hit harder and an even more devastating moment for Carol, realizing she killed a kid that has been a victim of the Whisperers and that she hasn't really had a problem in the head, just had been manipulated.
