GORDON CHANG: NATO is now becoming realistic. I mean, this should have occurred a long time ago before the invasion of Ukraine because it was very clear that China and Russia were, first of all, exercising their militaries regularly. And last August, for the first time, Russian soldiers were using Chinese weapons, showing that they wanted to go for interoperability. That means you had to assume that China and Russia would fight together. So NATO's really is behind the ball right now. China is supplying material support to Russian war effort with these elevated commodity purchases and with other elements of Chinese national power.
