I put the 17 degree Callaway Apex UW and on really good strikes it goes as far as my driver (Callaway Big Bertha B21). I've considered getting a 13.5 degree fairway wood (either the SIM2 or the Epic Flash), or even the Ping G400 Stretch, as a driver replacement. However I've also been struggling with fairway woods either off the tee or off the deck. Driving irons also don't work for me anymore as I can't hit them particularly great. I guess I'll play a few more rounds and make that decision later on when I feel more comfortable with my strikes.

I have the TI 5 wood that replaced my previous 3 wood. Just no need for it. Easy to hit high with low spin. Is just a monster off the tee and very good from the fairway also.

Would have loved to see you try to hit a few off the deck Michael, to see how easy/difficult it is. Since most people would probably also need to use it as their regular 3 wood for 2nd shots into par 5’s.

I have this club. It is as advertised… an absolute rocket monster… I can generate over 170mph ball speed with it when I am swinging it well… I prefer it to my SIM 2 driver… my shaft is Tensei CK Orange.

I have a ping g400 stretch at 13 degrees, for my back up when my driver is misbehaving, It is a amazing club !!!

I have a 13.5 degree Rogue which is pretty fair off the tee. Haven’t had a lot of success hitting it off the deck but I have no problem doing that with my 14.5 degree F9.

I tried the Tm Fairways and couldn't control it. The spin was insanely high for me.

I have to say Michael your accuracy was all over the place with the 3 wood. Sure it went a long way but fore right!! To me the only reason for hitting a 3 wood off the tee is if I am having a bad day with the driver or more importantly I am hitting into a narrow area and I need more accuracy. The problem with the weight being right behind the face is it needs your very best strike to get it down the middle. When someone who is as good a ball striker as you is pushing them off the fairway that surely negates the need. I can miss the fairway with my driver!!

Michael... I am looking at all the new fairway woods. Anyway, I have a line on a Rocket in nice shape with a great shaft (Ventus Velo Red), that I can buy for a great price --a fraction of the new stuff. Would I be nuts to buy this instead of e.g., a QI35?

Beastly! Hardcto bag sometimes tho, I just reached myc13.5 with a 15.5 for gapping reasons. Difficult to hit something 275 when strong 3 was always rolling out further...

I have tried 4 different 13.5 ROCKETS still haven't felt one that just feels right, reverted to a 12 degree mini driver.
