I've driven a ball over 500 yards before. The actual distance wasn't calculated. I could have driven it further, but ran out of gas in my golf cart.

They say drive for show, putt for dough but when you're averaging 330 (ish) off the tee, generally leaving a little pitch on you're able to get it so close the putts are so much easier. If Rory's putting was as good as Tigers was back in his hey-day he would have been 7 or 8 shots further ahead in his last 2 majors. Unbelievable that he left so many putts out there and still won. Love watching him play.

Rory is my favorite golfer. A superbly talented, world's most beautiful golf swing, down-to-earth, approachable, genuinely a nice guy who I feel could be my best friend, ... or yours. A uniquely humble human being in spite of an amazing success.

The announcer says it best about his drives "it almost gets second wind half way through.. " I know exactly what he's talking about.  I call it second stage power.   On the big bombs when the ball is near the top of it's apex and seems like it's about to start descending , it instead hits the second stage boosters and stays in the air without ballooning.  It's beautiful to watch.

I have driven 440 yards, mainly by hitting a cart path and bouncing and additional 170 yards but still 440 baby

YAY Rory is back and playing awesome golf.He also just won the World Golf Championship yesterday and is world no.1 again. Best player in the world in a time when it is much harder to win when theres so many good golfers.I doubt he's overtake Tigers records though, it's just insane how great Tiger was for a few years .Anyway Rory = numero Uno =)
