ATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said Wednesday the alliance was not planning to send forces to Ukraine, after Poland called for it to deploy a peacekeeping mission. "We call on Russia, on President (Vladimir) Putin to withdraw its forces, but we have no plans of deploying NATO troops on the ground in Ukraine," Stoltenberg said after a meeting of NATO defence ministers.

Most Americans don't know this but Government will never announce to the public every thing we do to help countries with military aid we don't need to know and we announce to the enemy what's going on.

Every other UN country that voted to sanction Russia, and is not a NATO country should be sending soldiers and equipment to Ukraine.

What is difference to having Poland give its fighter planes to Ukraine and flown by Ukraine pilots to all other types mliitary hardware being supplied by NATO countries. Particularly why is America vetoing this idea. Why are planes different to anti air missiles, drones etc - except that PUTIN has threatened nuclear response if they deploy planes .

President Biden has done more to help the Ukrainians than any other country. It's time for Europe and Asia to help more, this is the historic fulcrum of the 21st century. We are all in this together and have a chance to improve our world. This is not a time to be shy about doing the right thing.

NATO's doctrine is completely outdated based on the new playbook in Putin's Russia. Sure, not engaging Russia in the post-Soviet era by EU and the other 'Western' economies surely led to the rise of Putin, as well as the playing out of interests in the Middle-East post-Kuwait's war with Iraq. NATO is run by foreign ministers who don't understand conflict as defence ministers would, and so the rigid mindset it embraces is a problem which works against themselves: there can be war and destruction around them and as long as it's not on their turf, they don't see it as hostility towards their interests. Anyone who understands globalisation knows that defending your supply chain is equally important, and Russia is using just that against them, too.

In all due respect, I think NATO needs a new leader. I know Stoltenberg was PM of Norway, but they need a military leader.
