Electric doesn't "Win" when you have to pay such a huge upfront premium, usually more than $8, 000 for a hybrid and a LOT more for all electric, to get the car. And you pretty much have to own a home where you can charge it, otherwise you still have to go to a charging station.

Most people can't afford their electric bills right now, much less buy a car for $50k-$120k. Again this news agency is not just bad at what they do but extremely out of touch with the community they serve...

You have to compare total cost of car and life span with maintainance a car that is 50 k gas compared to 100k electric. Over 10 years does the gas car cost more. I don't think so
