I'm sorry for first-time homebuyers who could never afford to buy one in the first place. I have no sympathy for first-time homebuyers who could afford it but decided to hold off because they believed the market was collapsing and was now priced out.

As a canadian now retired, i have living in Spain for 15 yrs. Living close to the sea, the country meets my NEEDS: sun, coffee, cheaper living costs, security, medical is very good, lots of culture and history, food is best, wine is cheap and very good and my top priority is cycling with my wife. We do close to 10, 000km/year including a biking tour this year in 7 countries in Europe. There are always certain negatives, you have to make a list and score them but Spain had a much better score than Italy, France, Greece and Portugal. Make a test, spend 1-2 months ahd find out if you would live there full time before your choice.

I’ve been to Southeast Asia this last February, and spent one month on vacation in the Philippines and stayed in Valencia, Bislig and Davao.
I still have about 10 more years before I fully retire, but already know where I will live during my retirement years, since my money goes a lot further there than here in the USA.

Also, the Pacific Ocean surroundings were very appealing, the culture is very interesting, the food was great (I lost 10lbs. In one month for just eating healthier than here in the USA) and I enjoyed also the fact everyone mostly spoke English and also I have an uncle who has been retired 9 years and lives in Valencia. The weather was awesome even though it rained here and there, and I’ve learned during rainy season it rains everyday sometimes.

The Phillipines reminded me of a nostalgic time from the 80’s and the 90’s with its building’s architectures everywhere and the amount of unexplored natural land was fascinating as well.

How about that mocking tone at the end ...
"See how we made you watch all of this without delivering on the title's promise?"
