What the hell is happening in the world these days. We are so lucky living in New Zealand as our crime rate is nothing compared to other places. People are so angry and dangerous now. And it's just getting worse not better. Police are fighting a no win battle sadly

The oil crisis had nothing to do with Detroit's decline, never heard that one before. It was white flight and outsourcing manufacturing to nonunion states and countries. I grew up in one of the redline suburbs.

I lost my 17 year old nephew to gang violence; the saddest part was he took a bullet to the head to protect his sister who was hanging out with her friend at a family park. Another personal story, in April of 2023, my 15 year old daughter had to be hospitalized for having THC, FENTAYL, COCAINE in her system because some homeless stranger had given her in a form of a pill. I HATE ST. LOUIS 😔😡

I'm poor as well (but work full-time with what used to be a middle class income) and am sick of having to live around "poor on purpose" people who don't pay for $**t because welfare feeds and houses them. My credit is screwed because an ex roommate robbed me monthly for the electric bill $$ that I put in (it was in my name 😑). I make $20 an hour but live in a motel room and can't save $$ because it costs $2000+ a month for a room. I'm literally trapped in a vicious cycle and am about at my wits end with how America punishes hard workers but dirt bags live for free and turn neighborhoods to $**t!! F'k the NYS Government for forsaking the people who pay taxes for literal criminals!!!!

I didn't like the video but I'm very glad I watched it. Here in North America, I believe we see what we want to see and close are eyes and minds to things we don't like like violence and crime. It doesn't fit into most of our "ideal" existence. But shutting it out only puts us in a false sense that everything is just fine. It makes us lower our guards to what is real. Thank you so much for making this video. We need to see and hear the reality, that's the only way to help fight it. God bless everyone ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.

Detroit motor died because they sucked at building cars. The Japanese did better.

What happened? The USA government promoted industry monopolization (actually taking down people like Ticker and Delorean). Once industry achieved monopolization they stopped doing a good job. Cars quickly rusted and engines broke. It was all too easy for the Japanese to take over.

Today them USA government continues this insane policy with enormous tariffs and literally blocking excellent vehicles like the Toyota Hilux from importation.

Government is not the solution. Government is the Problem!

The “good” news is these other countries will become much safer now that all the criminals are pouring over the US border… sigh

Years ago i work with a dude from India and he said that because of the number of people there (in the outskirts of the city), SOMETIMES (depending on WHO you were and or family related to) ... IF YOU GOT ROBBED ... sometimes the police would ALSO ROB YOU (if you still had anything left) ☹👎, And dared you to report them.

This is why I encourage everyone to relocate to my town - Mogadishu. We are an oasis of law & order + safety in the chaos that is Africa

Detroit was once a thriving city due to the auto industry. It went down the tubes because the industry packed up n moved over seas. That is the #1 cause of the downfall of detroit as well as many other cities.

I grew up in Detroit and currently live in West Bloomfield. Literally you took photos from two areas. What about the rest? I’m not broke my children are not in jail, ain’t nobody strung out on drugs, and there are not grand kids. My family owns a construction company, a social media agency as well as other thriving businesses. Dan Gilbert has done an excellent job Detroit is one of the best cities to live in and in have lived in 4 different states as well as two countries. Detroit is not the two blocks you featured.
