I had been collecting Davis weather station equipment i used to own and use back in the 90's. I found a brand new in the factory box, Weather Monitor II, Rain Gauge, Wind Vane & Anemometer and the outdoor Temperature & Humidity Sensor. I've had them all for a couple of years and just now set it all up and can now catch live conditions here in Parkrose, Oregon. I also won a Tempest weather station about a year ago in a contest on a YouTube weather report video channel that I need to set up and compare the data between the two stations. You gave me the motivation Michael to get up on my 2 story roof to set up my station. I placed my wind vane/anemometer 7 feet over the highest point of my roof to make sure it's not affected by the roof angles, chimney and such. The temp/hum sensor is protected from rain, wind and radiation effects hidden on the north side of my house.

I watch your forecasts religiously when in the PNW. I even used them when I was in UT and AZ (some of your charts reach that far). Let me relate what happened to me Mon/Tue. Monday I was on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. They had received 8 inches of snow on Friday, and I drove through it on my way from Monument Valley to Hurricane, UT. Well Between Monday and Tuesday, I drove from the Grand Canyon to Needles, CA. The change in elevation was around 7, 000 feet. The snow turned in to 96F. So that was an interesting lesson in elevation and weather. I've been to Rainier, so I know about elevation changes, but is kind of sudden coming down one mountain. It was very interesting to see the change in landscape and flora over a distance. I'll be watching you next year when I come to the PNW. Keep up the great work! 😀

Use the rate of acorns hitting my roof tells me wind velocity and change in weather and the cats running back and forth tells me how cold it is😂
