8:07 Please heed this warning! In pre-2010 (pre-drought) years falling limbs was a hazard but with major increases in drought-stressed, dying and dead trees every year, wind, heavy early rain and heavy wet snow bring down huge tree limbs (if not the trees) rapidly with no warning. I have had two *very* close calls in the past decade, mere meters away from being crushed. I grieve the severe tree loss in our forested parks (nearly 40% mortality in 15 years!) but that'll be irrelevant if we're squashed!

Awesome work, again! The funny thing about the fantasy land arctic air across the region is that it is happened. Bozeman hit -14F in October 2019 and -22F in October 2020 which was hard on trees not hardened off for the winter. The timing of the current model makes this almost eerie. But, who knows? Stay tuned to Pacific NW Weather for the latest on this developing story....

Good mirning Michael! Its beautifully clear here in Sedro Woolley. I was a kid in San Francisco in 1962, so all I remember of October that year was the Cuban Missile Crisis and us kids wondering if we would have Halloween that year! In January 1962 we did have a very memorable snow storm, literally unheard of there, with neighbors making snowmen with a few inches of snow.

I remember that storm, my dad thought the big windows in the living room were going to break. Grew up in SeaTac.

"It's a lot, of my Arctic Air Fantasy, . It's a lot of my Arctic Air dream."
It wouldn't be bad company to have this early in the Fall.

I remember the Columbus Day storm! I was a month from my 10th birthday. The power went out at our school (4th grade, Mrs. Studaman) about 9:15 am. An hour later school let out as it got too cold indoors. Bus took twice as long to get us home because of downed tree's and other debris. I believe it was a Friday. Lake Wilderness elementary school, Maple Valley, WA.
