I bought the Apis Tactical in small as I have short fingers - the fit was perfect, and the dexterity is great. I had been working bare handed but with the dearth was not liking the finger/hand stings I was incurring. Very happy with these and would recommend to anyone. After working in them for about 10 min the first time I forgot I was in gloves. Getting my son, who's a new beekeeper, a pair!

I bought these gloves and absolutely love them. I have more dexterity with these gloves than i have any others. Handled a very hot hive two weeks ago and they were stinging the gloves pretty hard. I never got stung once. Now i'm sure like Kamon said if they would have gotten just the right spot they could have but this really boosted my confidence with these gloves and I recommend them to any beekeeper i talk to.

I love mine. The padded back with the mesh really help keep your hands cool and the fit similar to "Mechanix" gloves. Being able to feel what you are doing is also helpful.

So far I've had pretty good luck with my glove setup, I've got short fingers and long but narrow hands so it's hard to find gloves that don't leave me with an inch of gloves past my fingers, I've found a pair of thin ulstrasuede and mesh gardening gloves I got from Home Depot that fit my stupid hands with a pair of dollar store dish gloves over top for extra protection, I've had my dish gloves decorated with stingers a few times when the girls were cranky but so far they haven't gotten through. I keep a seprate colour dish glove in the bee kit for when I have to handle chemicals or for going into less sanitary areas like cutouts. It's thin enough that I can feel what I'm doing and with a little corn starch I can get the dish gloves pushed up my fingers so I've still got fingertips without getting them pinched in the frames etc. My mom's hands fit well into the soft leather beekeeping gloves with the vented wrists from our local supplier but they're too long for my stubby little fingies. Mom tends to wear (bigger) dish gloves over her bee gloves too just because it keeps the propolis to a minimum, it comes off the dish gloves with a little alcohol and by the time that stops working they've usually got a couple holes and need replacing anyways.

Fred Dun mentioned the Bee Expo in his weekly Q&A 2 weeks ago. I have my tix, hotel and flights all set. Not too bad, as I am flying from the West Coast. Will look for these when I come.

Have a pair of the apis tactical. They are great for dexterity. Very cool. Wish I had known about the discount before I ordered them;

I absolutely love these gloves with one exception. i used them while doing oxalic acid vaporization on 12 hives after the 4th round, i noticed leather getting thin and small holes developed in the fingers. Probably just my use of them. Just wish someone could develop gloves that could take abuse on the fingers and still fit this good

Couldn’t agree more Kamon. Best gloves we’ve used thus far, and yes, we’ve been stung through them because, well, bees are gonna find a way. Only concern we’ve experienced is that the finger tips on ours have worn through quicker than other gloves on both my wife’s set, and mine. Maybe we’re just being extra rough w/ them in the apiaires, lol. But we love the feel and protection they provide, again, best gloves by a mile.

I have thought about getting a set of the Tacticals, I had to wear gloves in much of my working career and proper fit and dexterity has been lacking in beekeeping gloves. Thanks for sharing your time you two.

Thanks, Kamon, and thanks for the 10% off of the bee gloves. Much appreciated! I’m very glad that I subscribed before — your stuff is terrific.

I don’t always use gloves, but when I do, they’re Kamon approved.

I got my pair of these gloves last year. I tried to get Jeff (the head guy at Apis Tactical) to come to last year’s Expo. I’m glad that he is coming this year.

Check out Foxhound's gloves...very usable with great dexterity and a long cuff to cover your wrists

Love the hoodie, looks great. Would love the logo on a hat.

I've seen some posts about the API tactical gloves not really holding up well. I have a pair of the foxhound gloves I got dirt cheap ($9 a pair) when they changed their logo/brand and they've been holding up so far but are thicker than I need for most of my uses.

Kamon- “it negates probably 90 something percent of your stings….”

Honeybee- “so you’re saying there’s STILL a chance?”

I love those Apis Tactical gloves and choose to put up with an occasional sting so I can have that dexterity. And now that I know what parts of the gloves they tend to target, I am more on top of things when they get on my hands and shake them off before they sting me ;)
