@gloria25031 Well, the plus side is that we don't have to be conflicted by the sexiness of one of opera's most hateful villains. ;) And Zeljko Lucic, who is in this run, is a FANTASTIC Verdi baritone... heard him as an unforgettable Boccanegra a few years ago.

I saw yesterday Met broadcasting in Berlin. Randovsky, Hvorostovsky, Alvarez on their best. splendid. Also Zeijic convincing but with a lack of vocal individuality. But this "interpretation" is like a 70s museumsproduction, without any interpretation concept or at least elaboration of social references motivations and and many many standing around on stage. Impossibile in the 2011th. In Europe such a opulent nonsaying Revue production is possible only on small-towntheatres.
