Dmitri was a superb actor and an otherworldly singer. I won't even try to describe his singing abilities with words, as any description would surely do his voice injustice and be a gross understatement. All I can say is that his voice was a force of nature, plain and simple. He had one of the most exquisite instruments I have ever heard, live or on a recording.
