Russ will turn Mike Williams into a household name.

Know your history:: Pittsburgh is not imitating Seattle! Pittsburgh created/blue print of Great defense-Run the ball- and a QB that can control the offense.

Key's hatred of Aaron Rodgers is life-affirming.

Great segment guys, I really enjoyed the show. I have a problem with other sport pod cast talk as though the Steelers can't win the AFC North while we beat the Ravens and Bengals twice last year. We beat the Browns once and that's w/o a good QB.🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡

Paul Pierce and Keyshawn are so much better with Joy than Skip Bayless….. but where is Acho, James, and Shady McCoy

If I was Mike Williams I would be so pumped. Not only leave a garbage organization but also doesn't have to play with the biggest crybaby and overrated QB in the history of the NFL

Keyshawn hasn't seen all Joy's awful takes. I guess he's taking in the fact that she said she needs affirmation last week. Key is worried about getting fired again lol. His takes are God awful. They work well together. It's a good laugh.

What are you talking about, Key?! This notion that Pete Carroll tried to do things Russ’s way and it didn’t work is a lie!

(1) Pete didn’t try things Russ’s way for any significant period of time;

(2) When Pete did allow it, Russ went berserk and torched the league;

(3) Pete only allowed it full bore in early 2020, when he was renegotiating his coaching contract and needed to generate some excitement and win games because Pete’s 2020 defense was even worse than the Broncos’ 2023 Defense. It was historically bad. Russ carried that squad to a 7-2 record.

During one game (vs. the Bills), Russ threw three INTs, and Pete used it as an excuse to slow things down just to protect his defense from getting embarrassed. He host Russ the MVP that year, and it was the beginning of the end. Russ wanted out!

When Russ was torching teams, he had Seattle winning, and they got increasingly better as he handled more of the offense.

The Seahawks went 12-4 in Seattle in 2020 with Russ cooking, and he set career bests in multiple statistics. If Pete hadn’t slowed things down, Russ would’ve thrown for 6, 000+ yards and 60+ TDs.

Russ had carried the team in 2014 with 849 rushing yards and in 2015, but 2017 was the year that everyone knew it was Russ’s team. Here were the Seahawks’ records when Russ was truly the intentional center of the team:

2017: 9-7 (should be 13-3 w/ an MVP)
2018: 10-6
2019: 11-5 (narrowly lost MVP)
2020: 12-4 (NFCw title, MVP Fav)

He threw for 15, 753 yards during those 4 seasons, which averages out to 3, 938 yards per season…basically the equivalent of 4 straight 4, 000 yard seasons.

Over that same span, Russ threw for 140 TDs and 35 INTs, an average of 35 TDs and 8.37 INTs (rounded down to 8) per season while averaging fewer than 500 attempts per season.

He had an average of 104.4 passer rating over those four years, including three years with 100+ passer ratings. His only sub-100 passer rating was in 2017 when he had a 95.8 passer rating, which was still better than over 2/3 of the league’s starters. In the three seasons between 2018 and 2020, Russ’s average passer rating jumps to 107.5

He averaged 500 rushing yards per season during that span.

Every year, the more the Seahawks depended on Russ, the better they performed as a team, record-wise, and the better Russ was individually.

NOBODY was as good as Russ during those four seasons…NOBODY!

Btw, that 9-7 record occurred in 2017, when Russ broke Tom Brady’s single-season record for individual offensive production, accounting for 89.9% of the Seahawks total offense for the season, including all but 1 TD.

Also in 2017, Russ had no run game (an overweight Eddie Lacey) and a FK named Blair Walsh, who singlehandedly torpedoed a would-be 13-3 record into a 9-7 record by missing four game-winning FGA, all of which were inside his normal range. The defense was average at best that year.

Except for 2017, Russ managed to drag the Seahawks into the playoffs each year from 2014 to 2020 plus 2012, and as stated above, he ostensibly did it in 2017 too. It was ruined by Blair Walsh.

First time I enjoyed watching the new Speak team. You guys seems to be having fun. Should allow personalities to come out more, while still remaining competitively informative between the commentators. Several other episodes in my opinion (for what it's worth), seemed mundane, regimented, and too serious. Maybe it's always been this interesting, and I've just been missing it. I really appreciate this episodes' content.

The excuses for Rogers toxic personality and narcissistic behavior are beyond been ridiculous. Russ will use Mike Williams traits to the benefit of the Steelers instead to abuse him as a scapegoat.
