At least three troops faint in military parade inspected by Prince William

At least three troops have fainted in the scorching heat during a royal military parade, with Prince William acknowledging the "difficult conditions".

It happened as temperatures hit 30C (86F) in the UK for the first time this year - 30.5C was recorded at Heathrow, the Met Office later confirmed.

The same is happening here in Denmark. Our uniforms aren't made for the new summer climate, and ontop of that we wear bulletproof vests underneath. Standing guard for 2 hours or marching like this is hell. I wish our British comrades all the best while braving this heatwave

Full PPE for a 3ft archeological dig but wear full bearskin uniform in +30°heat forget it. Where’s H&E when it’s needed and isn’t it about time they give these guys and gals a break and modify the uniform for summer parades.

Time to introduce a hot weather uniform… it may be traditional to wear a ‘bearskin’ helmet and dress tunic, but in the heat that we are having its time to acknowledge global warming is here.

Protocol is to not break form and help them but rather to wait for the help to arrive. Good on those two at the start for breaking rank to help keep him up
