“This is a song about how the internet should be used to positively build on energy that came about because of social media. All my songs are to some extent about travel, about finding your way, finding new things, seeing things differently. Life is travel. Boboyillo is about travel in a different way, about how information travels, how songs travel, taking us with them. Songs can be another form of migration, where different cultures mix to make something new and exciting, producing new ways of being and seeing. It features a young singer called Rougi who was making a name for herself performing on the internet. We come from a similar community of fishermen. She took one of my songs which was a surprise and did her own singing on it, transforming it into something else. Even though it was from the internet it reminded me of how traditionally songs travel from village to village and have new elements added to them, so that a song can be written by everyone. ”
