"Cats don't miss you when you're gone" ~ people who have never had a cat

Our orange "George" sits in the front window. Sees us coming up the walk, jumps down, greets us at the door, insists on pets before allowing us in. 😸

Glad to see they survived their catsitting experience. Hope you had a wonderful vacation.😁

Considering how much my cat yowls every time I get home from work and how he becomes a stage five clinger anytime I'm gone for the weekend, I can safely say cats do miss you.

Because those people don't bond with their cats to create that relationship where they miss them. People do the same with children and even dogs and wonder why they don't seem to care. They take the hands off approach too seriously and ruin relationships they could have had by not creating them.

I had a friend in high school who had two cats, went to his house once and entertained his cats while his parents were out of town to help out. I went back a week later to hang out with him and his cats were velcroed to me 😂 cats can be just as affectionate as dogs 100%

I've known a cat that _liked_ me for being stinky.

Now that I think about it, he was _also_ orange flavored...

My mom's cats are like her secret service team! One ahead and one behind!😂 If something in the woods spooks them they'll actually shepherd her down a different path! 😂

Jojo is such a delicate and sweet little miss, I adore her.

My cats taught me a lesson when I returned home from a long trip. They greeted my friend who had been caring for them while I was gone with exuberance (she picked me up from the airport), while I was treated with disdain until she left. My place in the hierarchy was clearly explained. 😁

Years ago, when I would leave my female ginger with my parents when I travelled, she would give me the cold shoulder when I returned. It was very obvious she was upset with me as she treated me as if I was invisible and she refused to sleep with me for 3 days. She knew how to bear a grudge! 😅. I've never left my current two, but I know the male gets unhappy when I work OT. He is super needy and his sister is only slightly less so.

My darkness flavored daughter comes sprinting into the room purring when I come home.

Your orange flavored son is the most entertaining. But I swear Jojo is my favorite.

Of course he missed you! Who else will hold him upside down?! 😹
When I come back from a trip, my cat is all over me and extra affectionate. 😻

This is such a silly thing for people to say. You'd only think cats don't miss you if you've never owned a cat... or at least, never owned a cat that you had a good relationship with. Every cat I've had greeted me at the door if I was gone for a few days. Now, Gus Gus would also show her displeasure by peeing in my suitcase, but she WAS happy to see me. She just needed me to know I wasn't allowed to leave again. 😂

Yes they do miss you and do know you're gone. When we'd go on vacation for a weekend, when we got home OMG the constant meowing and circling and demanding attention, yeah they let you know how they felt being "abandonded" LOL.

Trust me that YouTube video had me in tears on how sad it really is when they are by themselves 😢

The cat I currently live with (she is my grandparents' not mine) tolerates me for the most part however she loves greeting us at the door and will actually come eat her breakfast when I come down which is adorable but she won't eat unless one of us is sitting at the kitchen table and either eating or drinking. Luckily we sit there often. My orange cat got mad of I left without him it was pretty funny, I'd tell him where I was going and he'd do better.

Cats miss us maybe even more than dogs. The main difference is that they are not annoying as dogs are.

I have dogs but love purrpals too, and yes, they are definitely just as attached as dogs are to their owners. I love your goofy babies so much!
