Hello.
Thank you for this tutorial.
I have a question regarding this subject. I am building up an accountancy application in access 2010 and for the order and sales invoices I have a form linked with a subform. Moreover, after the user modifies that particular invoice or order he needs to check a box weather or not that document is payed or cashed. And here comes the question: After this operation I want that document to be lock for editing and deleting. Is this possible?

Kind regards.

What about a datasheet in a subform, where the subform shows a query that has been ran? I don't see a field lock in my setup.

This is fine at the Form level. But user can always go to the table and edit that particular field. My question is: can I protect a field at the Table level? As to its usefulness, I'm planning to have a field that's automatically filled with Now() so that when the record entry is posted that info is sort of forever committed as no one could ever change that - at least not easily. Thanks.

Can we lock an entry after data has been enter. I'm working on a sign-in sheet and once all the information is entered I don't any changes to be made - However, if a change would need to be made it would have to be done by an "administrator"

Hello Tom. Thank you for the tutorial. I did what you said on a "short text" field. When I create a new record, Access won't allow me the initial entry, either. What am I doing wrong? By the way, my field is also a Primary Key field, so you can imagine what happens. Alt Ctrl Del. Thank you, in advance.

Hi Sir,
Nice video. I have question.

Check-box to hide/show columns in subform-

I have multiple checkbox in Form's header and data is showing in subform. If i click on checkbox(Header checkbox) then column needs to be hide in subform and if uncheck column to be show in subform.
