Welcome back to another video! Today we are talking about the DX12 " mod" for GuildWars 2. The theory is that it improves the framerate of the game with no significant downsides. In this video i will be testing these statements in commonly known hard to run areas.

Please let me know what your experience with this mod has been. Has it improved fps? Also, what system are you running it on? I might look to do a follow-up video in case demand is high.

i just tried it, even if the frames are not crazy higher, it makes the gameplay feels consistent without any hickups, so i recommend everyone to install it, running on i7 8086k 1080ti

What is the performance overlay you're using?

Hello I have a question is better for this game to get the i7 9700 (Im not using overclock) or the ryzen 7 3700x? I was also thinking about getting a ryzen 9 but I read in a forum that someone was getting not a very well performance with ryzen 9 so I think its just a waste of money compared to ryzen 7 or i7 because the more cores it has does not help for this game.

Jesus those Frame Times. DX12 Wrapper does offer some improvements as far as asset calling and what not goes but it still doesnt help that GW2 is a heavily CPU Bound game that doesnt efficiently take full advantage of whats offered to it as well as having bare minimum multi core support preferring to load up a single core. So this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as it goes.

No overclock:
My game's settings are all maxed except for Post Processing which is set to low. I get around 25 - 30 FPS in LA and Mistlock Sanctuary unless I'm zoomed in and looking down, then it'll increase to 60 fps.

With Overclock:
Same settings as above, but my laptop's cpu temps shoot from 50C up to 80C and fans kick in quite loud. But my framerate increases to 45fps average, usually getting 60-70 fps in lower populated areas of LA.

With dx12, I only got about an extra 5fps average boost.. Guess I'll stick with what Anet provides seeing as it's not all too significant.

I think that it may work if you rename the d3d9.dll when the command prompt asks you to, but I have not tried it yet.

Would a 4930k be better than a 4790k for this game?

Naah I Will not do that, I just turn smut off and oc to 4.275Ghz on my r5-2600 and get 10-30 more FPS in lions arc when smt (multi thread) Is off I get more FPS and more stability on my fps. For the game I recommend minimum 4c/4t

Is there something like this with DX11 for Windows 7 users like me?
(No, I'll not downgrade to Windows 10)

not worth the trouble since it barely add few fps for the cost of higher use and warm up of the GPU and the whole system.
