Because it sounds good and doesn’t show you the other side of the coin. It's the good without the bad. It's an easy street without hard hills. And actually that is not how real life is…

What if I were to tell you that, “Following Jesus comes with a price?” Or if you choose to walk after Jesus it will not only be the hardest decision you make, but it will be the most difficult walk you will ever take.” Would you still be interested? Can I sign you up?

I realize that is not always the greatest sales pitch…

That is a tough pill to swallow, I know. But, it is absolutely true. Listen, “Jesus told his followers, “Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. (The disciples faced difficulty)

Jesus goes on to say those famous words, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:32, 33

Jesus' words loose paraphrase are, “Listen, in this life you will face difficulties, don’t live in denial, it's going to happen, but, don’t worry, I am here with you every step of the way, and I love you and have a plan!”

I don’t know where you are today. Maybe like some of us you are in the midst of a great trial. Perhaps, you are just coming out of one and you're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
