it literally breaks my heart, because my father passed in 95 when i was a child of AIDS and if he could have made it another year he may have been able to live though it. im so glad that so many people can live full lives now

I've been HIV Positive for almost 15 years now. I've been on meds since 09. I now test undetectable. HIV/AIDS is no longer a death sentence. Many of my friends died in the 80's of AIDS. Too bad they didn't have the outstanding care that I've received.

I got told I had this thing in 2003.
VL 14, 400
Cd4 144
Go forward to today [21 years].VL undetectable
Cd4 630 [Normal functioning immune system].
One tablet once a day [Atripla].I see my Dr once a year.
I have no other infections.
Life expectancy same as the man next to me who isn't living with hiv.
If only people forty years ago had the same chance.Breaks my heart.
I'm telling my story to help anyone who has just been told.
Also there will be a cure in 10 years from now.
Mark my words.

My brother died of AIDS complications in 2011. It’s far from over. Yes, meds are great …but there are those who still will die of complications. Stigma is also a killer.

Do you think HIV/AIDS was engineered and released? Some would like to know.

It still a death sentence it's just handled cleaner and talked about in a regal manner.
