In this video we test NVIDIA's new 1-click GPU overclocking feature in the NVIDIA App. Last week NVIDIA announced a "new" 1-click GPU overclocking feature in its NVIDIA App. We test drove NVIDIA's GPU Auto Overclocking feature and benchmarked it versus a manual GPU overclock. We also compare the NVIDIA GPU Overclock 1-click feature to AMD's GPU Overclock 1-click feature. If you've always wanted to know how to overclock GPU 2024 but been afraid to do it, this video might help you finally overclock your GPU.

What do you think of NVIDIA's 1-click OC? Have you used it or AMD's 1-click GPU OC? If so, tell us what GPU you have and what kind of OC it gave you (GPU mhz boost and VRAM boost). Tell your story in a new comment below!

I’d like to see auto undervolt to save power and lower noise.

To me it only makes sense to OC if your current GPU is struggling in the games you play. If not that 2-5 fps isn’t worth it because you won’t notice it in game.

444k subs.
i remember building my first pc with your vids back when you had under 100k subs. geez time flies keep it up man

It's legit perfect for something being new. Sure nothing crazy but it doesn't void your warranty and I agined 3fps on average in 4k. That's a W. It's safe and effective without over doing it. You can still OC yourself but for normal users this is appreciated.

the nvidia overclock fixed my hz and fps. I would get 200-300 fps with my 4060 on valorant, but if never felt like the 164hz I was supposed to have. it would stutter between 100+. After the nvidia overclock, my fps and screen hz has felt amazing with no stutter

This is kinda crazy powerful as it moves this nuch closer to an actual production software.

I remember this feature has been accessible for at least a year. However, it was not that much in sight, because it was hidden in the Nvidia Overlay (ALT+Z), and then you had to navigate to performance and then click on auto overclock.

I want to make a correction. Unless you play around with voltage there really is no way to hurt your gpu with overclocking via msi afterburner. You can max out the power limit and temp limit and it wont hurt your gpu. memory clocks don't hurt at all they just might reach a point where you see no further performance gains and performance actually gets worse.

I use AMD's built-in tuning stuff to undervolt my video card. It really can help performance. Nvidia should have been doing it a long time ago. Thumbs up!

Just did it on my new gigabyte 4070 super windforce oc and take gpu +128 and vram +200 and i have to say a big thank you for your build guide it helps me a lot

Not sure why it would take 20-30 minutes for something they just add a default increase in VRAM clocks and a tiny core clock increase... Just got a 7900 GRE a few days ago after upgrading from a 2080 ti and the AMD OC panel is so easy to use. You can OC within seconds, test the settings and save it if it seems stable. If your pc crashes it will automatically set your GPU to default, then you can load your last saved OC and dial things a little back and test again.

Finally somtin about overclocking!! Thanks

1) its not new, its been there for years
2) difference between this and your manual 170 is that this is rock stable, yours crashes randomly every once in a while

The only thing I really hate about the newNvidia app is if you enable overlay you can loose a lot of fps in some games. In some game it can cost me almost 20 fps and I have a Rtx 4090.

I'm one of those people who likes simplicity, but for GPU's it is pretty simple to UV and/or OC. I do a combo UV/OC. I get stock clocks/perf but I save 50 watts. For Nvidia, it really makes the most sense to do a UV/OC, because they definitely push their cards way too hard(at least for the 30 and 40 series cards I have tested).

Evga Precision X1 has that feature. It is conservative also. Nothing beats a good ol manual o.c.

I have a Plait Gamerock RTX 4090 with a power limit of 450W.
My OC is simple:
- Power limit: 85%.
- Core clock: +120MHz.
- Memory Clock: +600MHz
- Fan Speed: 35%

I'm just glad you can roll back the driver updates. I've been playing ghost of tsushima and it was running great at high settings, the update last week killed that so i rolled it back and it's back to great. Just be aware of this guy's, if a game suddenly starts running terrible, did you just do an update?

I had a different experience when I attempted to overclock using EVGA precision. My system would reset and crash. The times I could get it to play were about maybe 10-15 frames better on 1440P on helldivers2, sitting around 100fps in the ship and about 65-70 in the game. When I tried the one click, mine jumped to 130 fps on the ship and 87-95 fps in the game. I have a great cooler, a 4070 and i7-14700KF- with a z model motherboard. Now, I am new to PC gaming. I only owned my PC for about 5 months and only tried overclocking the last 2 months. But in terms of performance, the one-click worked better for me. If you know, with my specs, how I could try manual overclocking and not crash my system, please let me know. Thanks, PC Builder!
