I just picked up a chore coat from Le Laboureur, another company that makes these traditional, French workwear things. It's not as old as companies like Le Mont St Michel or Vetra but they've been making workwear in France since the 50s which is well long enough to scratch that heritage itch. Plus the measurements on the website I got it from seemed to work for me and the price was right. My jacket is pretty roomy but when you do the hug test it gets a little tight. Which is weird because it is super roomy everywhere else.

I have the Germinal work jacket from Bleu de chauffe. I'm about your size, but a little slimmer. This type of jacket is tight, especially in the arms. It's not meant to be worn with a thick sweater, but with a shirt or even a t-shirt. After all, it's made for factory workers.

I love this jacket, but I'm not a slim fit size anymore. I grew up to that thic boy shit. Thanks for the review bro you saved me a bit of money! You have good taste! I'm going to check out the dickies limited edition one and I'm trying to track one in hemp!

Blue is the main color as those were actually called Bleu de travail. My grandfathers would not have been caught outside without one during the week. Those were mainly use to go and come back from work as well as for the beginning of the work day, once in full work mode they would be taken off as they would be too hot to work with. Good job on the prononciation of Mont saint Michel, neither of the Ts should be pronounced.

I could hardly find any images online of the Navy colour, and the photos from LMSM make it look black. What does it look like in person?

I heard once the top pocket was for a pocket watch originally, thoughts?

Ah I wished you tried it on because I ordered the same exact color and size (Navy in 50).
I am 6.1 and 200lbs so I guess I’ll find out if it fits in couple of days.. Btw, I found a deal at Clove & Creek store and it ended up costing me $254 out the door :)

I have one in blue, but the problem with me is the width of the arms and arm holes. Just too tight for a 93kg man.

I bought a clone on poshmark for $10 . . . so you can literally get the utility of this $300 dollar item for 30 times less.
I hope this helps.
