Spider-Verse | Leap of Faith

“That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed, without a doubt, a real superhero "

I got in the mood again to make a Spider-Verse video. Spider-Verse is a triumphant work of art that is beautiful to behold, that gets better with each additional viewing. It embraces the truly remarkable spirit that makes Spider-Man so popular and why he is so important to so many fans.

ps - I had to work without clean audio. I had to remove music on my own from the dialogue that's why I unfortunetely had to make compromises.

What Miles Morales has taught me:
1. We all fall. We lay there for a moment, cry a little if we have to... But we get back up because that's what matters the most
2. We all try to be like our role models and mentors. But in the end, we can only be the best us that we can be.
3. You wear a mask to appear fine to everyone else, but what's under it speaks louder than the mask itself.
4. We can't control when bad things happen nor how they happen. We can only control how we react.
5. Life isn't set in stone. We will never know what comes ahead. So, we have to take that _leap of faith_ to better ourselves.

I'm black and I remember that when Miles was introduced back in 2011, I didn't give a care in the world about him because it looked like a weak attempt to throw a black character into the media. I always hated that when people say they need more diverse characters, they immediately think of a black person. After the movie came out 7 years later, Miles Morales has become my personal favorite of Spider-man; not for his race but how is was so expertly handled in the movie. One of the things that made me love Miles so much when watching Into the Spider Verse was that he is an original character of story. How? because so many black characters that are made, the story line behind the character has to fight through is always the whole fighting against discrimination and prejudice crap; that story line for black characters has been getting old. Miles' story is completely different, original, and can relate to other people.

Another thing I like about Miles in his movie, he is a hero who does not try to fight for a girl. A hero doesn't always need to have some girl in his fucking life as a prize in his hero work; no kissing scene whatsoever for Miles as a hero, I swear, if I see the girl getting introduced as the character's crush by watching her walk down the school hallway in slow motion and waving her hair to the side and smiling at others one more time, I will give the producers a black eye.

And lastly, Miles' motivation is completely justifiable. Ever since I was 14, I always hate how teenage characters in animated stuff or movies are always rebelling against their superiors or elders and not following orders believing that they can fucking do shit on their own as if they are fucking ready. Just like how my classmates rebel against our teachers. Miles is actually rebelling because he made a promise and wishes to keep it and doesn't want to let the person he made that promise to down, and I freaking admire that! It reminds me when I went behind my parents back to get some meat, crackers, juice, bread, chips, and water in a bag and my brother and I would take the bag to this homeless person who need it. I admire teens who rebel against their elders for a good reason and only when the elder is being a complete shit case. Also, he feels guilt for doing nothing to help so he is trying to make up for it. He is a teenager who is rebelling for good reason. I freaking love that. I had Miles all wrong back in 2011 but thanks to Into the Spider Verse, I have a new found respect for him and he is my personal favorite as Spider-Man. I don't like characters because they are the same color as me, I like a character just as character, how his/her story goes to make me like them and how I feel relatable to them. I have been in Peter Parker's shoes before but I am black. I don't need to relate to someone because of skin color. I relate to characters not because they look like me, I relate to them because they are a human being like me. Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero since 2001 so I say "EXCELSIOR"!

Miles: You gotta go home man
Peter: How I know I’m not going to mess it up again
Miles: You won’t
Peter: Right, it’s a leap of faith

This movie is just so inspiring. I have some bad anxiety. But seeing that leap of faith scene. Like it has changed something within me. Like whenever I feel super scared I just remember the fear miles felt, but he still did it. Like oh my god. I’m so scared for going away to college. But I know that once I’ll go there I’ll grow and change for the better. It’s a leap of faith. It might not work. It might not be the best. But I’ll take the leap despite my anxiety and try something new

Spider-man's death from this movie hit me hard than in Infinity War.

At 1:12 the numbers 42 are lying on the ground beside miles. If any one has watched across the spider-verse would understand that miles was bit by a spider from Earth-42. This is such a cool easter egg.

" That's all It is Miles, a leap of faith. "

Spider-verse's audio is really difficult. I had to remove music from the dialogue on my own - That's why I made compromises. Hope you all enjoy the video.

I swear, every single time I watch Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse, when I get to the big “what’s up danger” when Miles finally steps up, I still get choked up as I cheer and quote along with the movie and the song playing in that movie.

Great video

Slyfer you really boutta be out here like “I made compromises”

As if this isn’t, yet again, one of the best edits I’ve ever seen.

Slyfer: “How do I know I won’t screw it up this time?”
Us: “You won’t.”
Slyfer: “Right. It’s a leap of faith.”

The part that gets me is when miles hugs his father . Some one close to me lost there father and I think of how I can turn to my father . I know a good number of people may not have that father, but they still have that person who they can turn to and never forget that person!

To be told, that Miles' adventure is like growing up, and that all it takes is one big leap of faith, that gives me the chills.

To be honest, I'm in Miles' situation at the beginning. Not doing well in life, and I feel like I'll always be beat down, and not be able to get back up.

This video, and his story, that inspires me, every time I hear about it.

Thank you Miles, for showing us we aren't the only ones going through these pains.

We can all be a hero, even if being a hero means just helping someone pay for groceries, or holding the door for someone.

In our own way, we are all our own version of Spider-Man.

And we all need to take a leap of faith.
Because that's all growing up is.
A leap of faith.

And will we know if we'll mess it up?
We won't.
That's why it's called a leap of faith.
