Springsteen is a class guy.. I heard from a friend of my uncle that after he did Glastonbury, he saw some friends near Oxford. The friend booked a table in a restaurant, when the came in they were asked to move to a different table.
At the end of the meal they were about to pay the bill they said "the people who asked you to move, paid your bill".
He found out a few weeks later it was indeed Bruce Springsteen that asked to sit at that table because it was the most private place in the restaurant.

I saw Bruce a couple of times in and around San Mateo CA around the same time as this story, twice in a movie theater and once in the parking lot of a Burger King, and he was always open and friendly whenever I said "Hey, Bruce.". It's amazing how someone so famous can remain so humble and so accessible.

I really had no idea what to expect here, but I don’t get how someone could find that awkward. Thats a pretty heartwarming story to me.
