Hi Mike, we are not doing summer tubbing with guppies/endlers next year or from now on, just can't rehome them before the cold sets in! We are switching to Medaka rice Fish that can stay out all year round here in the UK. Ever consider switching to all year tubbing with medaka rice fish? They go for 10 times the cost of guppies in the UK right now and are just as easy to breed!

That sucks. I did my first tubs this year ... disaster as well. Not dragonflies, my netting kept them out quite well. Nope, no aliens ... just garden snakes and frogs, both of which easily slipped through the netting and feasted. Since there really is no way to keep them out without removing the benefits of outdoor tubbing, this was also my last season doing it. I love your vids because they are real - I'm about to do an update on my fishroom if you want to see ghetto. You and 2 other folks are the only ones I still watch because you are real people doing the work and showing it. I'm not saying that the Co-op doesn't put in work, but it's all behind the scenes and being done by the cogs of the machine they have become. Keep going man, we need folks like you.

I recon you have been making great content the last few months. You underestimate how enjoyable it is to watch videos that don’t have all these extra bells and whistles. You keep it simple. You, your fish and a camera.

So sorry for your losses. I had tub pond issues last year. This year I had a decent yield of growth and fry with my guppies. But I feed my tub ponds every day and I check on how everyone is doing in my tub ponds every day. I do think that makes a difference. It's a reason for me to spend some time outside daily. Hope you don't give up. Some years are better than others. Give it a try again next year.

Don't be discouraged. I didn't have air conditioning for a couple of years so I lived with the doors and windows open throughout the summer. The second summer I noticed something very wrong with my tank. There were no fry and missing fish. I thought that for some reason they had quit breeding and some had died and the snails cleaned them up. As I was cleaning the tank, I saw the monster. It freaked me the hell out. I sucked it up through the vac.
I like to think I'm not squeamish but it's not true. That got me.
I hope when the time comes you'll go ahead and do it again, if you want to.

(I've always wondered what your tubs would yield if you fed them fry food three times a week, for every other day.)

Thanks for the honesty, I had 7 tanks from 5 gallons to a 175 gallon crash and lost every damn fish and snail. Dunno why, I’ve even chatted with a few guys about it, including you and Cory. Every time I’ve tried again, the city changes the water drastically and even while treating and aging my water, I’m still loosing… sign for me to change my plans. It’s all good. Keep your head up Mike!!
