On the length, I think it's appropriate that this is a film which not only is long but feels long. The Osage lived with the reign of terror for 5 years. We should be able to sit with a film about it for 3 hours.

I'm Navajo, and in a lot of native tribes a vision of an Owl is the harbinger of death. I was so glad to see that in the film.

I watched this in the theater with my dad and we were both pretty speechless on the ride home. Lily Gladstone has a silent unspoken rage that no amount of screaming could ever fully let out.

Lily Gladstone deserves the oscar! Her acting is so subtle and yet sooo powerful and meaningful.

The script was originally written for the focus to be on the FBI agent who comes to town and eventually helps to solve the murders, with DiCaprio playing that character. But Leo (correctly) felt that it would have been too much of a "white savior" type of film. He wanted the focus to be on the murders and the injustice that was done to the Osage. So the script was rewritten, with Leo taking the role of Ernest, and Jesse Plemons ended up playing FBI agent Tom White.

This is such an important movie. Especially for us indigenous peoples to have our stories told.

Scorsese choosing to deliver the final lines, with tears in his eyes, really delivered home the message.

It wasn't too long at all. It was perfect.

I saw this in theaters, trust that this hurt is much deeper when you're native and understand that experience. That generational trauma we native children are born with. Its good for our stories to be told.

Movie suggestion next-The Iron Claw, perfect for Natalie

I really like the banal, nonchalant nature of the violent and hateful acts in this movie. REALLY helps to convey the heartless, cruel nature of these events.

I'm part Osage, and when I saw this movie for the first time, I was so tense and angry. I felt like I had a steel plate in my chest. I left the theater feeling kinda spaced out and stayed that way until I went to bed.
My grandpa never talked about the murders; I only learned about them about 5 years ago. And only a few months ago, I learned that my grandpa’s mom and grandma barely escaped from a man who broke into their house to murder them, so it makes sense why he never did.

Also, something I thought was funny, and fucking insane, was when it became clear that the white people in this movie were not the “good guys”, a couple got up and walked out. Like??? What movie did you think y’all were at lmao? They clearly did zero research and just went to see the movie because it was filmed in and around our town. Racists are wild, man.

You can tell the emotional impact this movie had on me because my first reaction to seeing this pop up in my feed was "Oh no".

Lily Gladstone’s performance gave me so much sympathy for her character that when the Oscars happen, I’m gonna vote for her to win Best Actress.

This film definitely needed the runtime. What we're getting is still a distilled version of a years long, true saga.

I live in northern Oklahoma. Not Osage County itself, but not far away. This movie felt very real to me, with all the mentions of Fairfax, Ripley, Drumright, and other places that I've known all my life. I'm used to movies being set in far away places I've never seen. This felt more like the real world. I know some Osage, but I haven't had the guts to ask anyone if they'd lost any family members.

The best Scorsese film I've seen is Hugo. I really think you would love it. New York, New York is underated, but it does drag in places. I think it's cool that Martin Scorsese is indirectly responsible for Frank Sinatra having his last hit a couple of years later.

I feel this film is a necessary watch for anyone with a conscience. Every actor nailed their role. Gladstone was incredible

When my wife and I finally saw KotFM, The Eras Taylor Swift movie was in the adjacent theater. Fortunately, it wasn't loud and largely ignorable. However, in the confession scene when Leo finally accedes to Jesse Plemon's character to testify in the trial, there's a steady, solemn profile shot of the room and no music. Then...

"IT'S ME!, HI!, I'M THE PROBLEM, IT'S ME!!"

I think the reasons why there were so many graphic and kind of drawn out scenes of the Osage being killed was to show the brutality and how mathematical these killings were. Hale saying that he loves the Osage (calling Henry his bestfriend) and then just killing them off like animals. I agree with that the movies is long but i’m unsure what they could’ve cut?

You provided some great insight about how Leo holds his tension play Ernest! Didn’t know that’s how actors go about finding their character
