Because the two pairs of angles both satisfy the conditions for being alternate angles then PQ must be parallel to SR (if they werent parallel they could not be alternate)

You're thinking of perimeter where you do add the diameter. It's the distance outside the shape. This is area and so is just half a circle do no add diameter

18.08 It's 2, 220 - which you said. However, it was 2, 200 that was written. That's out by 20. Pernickety but there you go.

On question 8(b) can you use the actual area of the metal? rather than the rounded version?

Isnt a semicircle 0.5 x pi x rxr PLUS the diameter which is 2r?

on question 13 couldn't you say instead the the interior angles add to 180, therefore PQ and SR are parellel?
