12 years of Catholic school and this is the first I have learned of this.

I always thought that Gnosticism is not one thing, that it was an umbrella term used for different sects influenced by Christianity which did not all share same beliefs.

Arguably, Gnosticism started in the Garden when Satan suggested that eating from the Tree of Knowledge would make Adam and Eve like gods.
Masonry is through and through Gnostic with its secret knowledge of the craft and its skewed, naturalistic version of Christianity that it accepts.

I was trying to learn what a gnostic was and what they believe in. Instead I just had a bias explanation of how they are heretic in their beliefs. How does that educate anyone.

This video has nearly converted me to be Gnostic! Thanks for sharing this wisdom of the Gnostics!

When I was into Gnosticism at uni, I had a Satanist friend and I tried converting him as we believed most of the same stuff 🤦‍♂️ thank God I read Irenaeus against heresies and was like damn, I'm super deceived

Off topic, I came across a Latin singing brother/sister group of four, Harpa Dei. They have their own Youtube channel by the name. There is something very special when these siblings sing traditional songs/prayers in Latin. I felt like I was hearing poetry when I experienced them for the first time. I think all would enjoy their very holy, meditational music.

I’ve been studying religions to try to find where I fit in, it hasn’t been easy. I would have to put up my hand and say this isn’t a full explanation of Gnosticism. There are different beliefs - like Protestant and catholic have different beliefs about the same thing. There are sects in Gnosticism that believe that Jesus was here in the flesh with us. Unfortunately a lot of these tellings are left out in a lot of Christian teachings. Which is why I’m having a hard time finding where I fit. There are truths in all of the teachings, it’s quite frustrating. So I keep searching, I’ve come to realize in my search that sometimes finding our loving god is a personal experience. At this point in my search there doesn’t seem to be one true religion. One thing is constant though, free will. We have the free will to find our own way to the Holy Spirit, whether that be catholic, Protestant, or any other Christian teachings that come after Christ. The god of the Old Testament wanted us to submit our will to him. There is a reason why we stopped following the Old Testament. What changed gods mind about us between the old and New Testament? Did he change his mind? For those who are curious, I would suggest reading Deuteronomy and asking why. Don’t stop until you find an answer, then ask why again. Then if you still have questions, read something that didn’t make it into the Bible. Like the book of Mary, the book of Enoch, or any other popular ones and keep asking why.

As an ex-protestant, I approve this message.

Excellent point Dr. T...."to the gnostics, its all about what you know AND NOT HOW YOU ACT." Sharing the perspectives with current real time events is awesome.

Gnostics do not reject the Crucifixtion or the ressurrection! "The master said 'James, do not be concerned for me or these people. I am the one who was within me. Never did i suffer at all, and I was not distressed. These people did not harm me. Rather, all this was inflicted upon a figure of the rulers, and it was fitting that this figure should be destroyed by them.' The First Revelation of James. Gnostics do not say he didn't have a body, but they do say he had the power to overcome the pain inflicted on him. I quickly ran to my book to write this quote while you were speaking live on this. Opened on the exact page of this. Coincidence, perhaps, perhaps not.

I disagree with some of your personal opinions but I have to say this was a very well structured and informative video.

Very good point in the last minutes. As an EO, we may disagree with some teachings but the sacraments are crucial. It's also about faith and knowing in what you belive, but that faith is sumerized in the euchrist

Sorry, but you discredited yourself on point #2. It is wholly inaccurate to say that all Gnostics rejected the resurrection of Jesus. There were so many Gnostic sects that anyone mildly well-versed on Gnosticism would know this is wrong.

Wow ! Thank you soooo much for this video Dr Marshall ! I so needed to hear this. I have a coworker who is Christian but some how came across that book, Nag Hammadi. I have never heard of it before, I have heard of the gnostic gospels . He has become way in to deep in this book and is trying to tell me that the Church took these books out for all kind of reasons. I did not know how to respond, He carries the book with him in our work truck and reads this thing. I have been hearing about the Nag Hammadi book for the last few weeks, so this is a blessing that you decided to cover this issue. He believes in these Gospels. Thank you again Dr Marshall.

This video was necessary to clarify so many ignorant ideas usually used by new age AntiChristians against Christians. It also helps Christians understand the heresy and how to clarify the facts. Just to know the gnostic bokks cut out any OT mention is a vital point in understanding the main differences. Great video Taylor. Really appreciate this. 🙏
