ATGATT or No Protective Gear Ever?

Are you and All The Gear All The Time (ATGATT) type of motorcylist? Are you a "that stuff isn't for me" type or somwhere in between? I was on my way on my CRF250L when I found myself behind a motorcyclist who was not wearing any protective gear. I mean this cyclist no disrespect and fully believe that he can ride wearing whatever he chooses. I thought that this would be a good conversation to have

When I was younger I wore just a helmet and usually shorts. One day i had a bug smack my chest on the freeway. I then felt a burning pain in my left knee like it was touching the exhaust pipe. I looked down and a Huge Bumblebee was stinging my knee over and over. Never wore shorts again! Now that I am an old guy 44 I wear ATGATT. Yesterday I went on an 80 mile ride with full gear and 100°F out I was soaked in sweat.

I always ride with a helmet, jacket and a good pair of blue jeans. I would love to have actual riding pants but it's awful hard to find short fat man pants in my price range.

ATGATT. Helmet, jacket, pants, gloves, boots earplugs. No exceptions. I have a wife and two sons. I choose to put myself at risk to ride. I really enjoy it, and riding has a positive impact on my attitude when off the bike. I ride ATGATT to minimize the risk as best I can, because they depend on me.

See this often. Weird feeling being the ATG person, but maybe the other guy feels odd not having even a jacket when sees one of us ATGs.

what are you thoughts on the subject? What gear do you wear? if you don't wear any, why? The intention of this video is not discuss who is right or wrong or to change anybody’s mind. It’s just to have a discussion of our personal thoughts and reasons.
