True. The Hebrew calendar is basically agrarian relating to the Land of Israel- harvest etc. The liturgy constantly references Jerusalem, Zion, Land of Israel. The festivals reference Jerusalem. The fast days of Tisha B’Av as well as 10th of Tevet and 17th of Tammuz which are all still observed today by religious Jews and Jews who understand the significance directly mourn the loss of sovereignty of the Jews in Judea. You cannot be an observant Jew and not a Zionist- the yearning for the Holy Land is uninterrupted for 2, 000+ years. But after the Romans (who renamed Judea and called Palestine after the extinct Philistines just to break the connection of the Jews to the land, and also renamed Jerusalem for the same reason) Christians and the Mameluks and the saracens and more all fought for it culminating in Ottoman rule (and neglect) for 400 years until WW1 when the empire collapsed and the British had a Mandate to administer the district of Palestine. And then the Jews returned and decolonized from the British. The Arabs cannot stand the fact that the Jews succeeded against all odds. It is humiliating to them. Instead of looking forward and creating a future, they chose a path of revenge and now victimhood, false narratives and hatred. They could have had a Dubai or Abu Dhabi but they chose to have a Gaza. And the whole world has to involve itself and have an opinion and blame the Jews because that’s the way of the world since forever. Any and every reason to hate the Jew, and the Jewish state. Jerusalem is not even mentioned in the Quran. However Quran 17 100-105 says the children of Israel should have the land of Israel 🇮🇱

As a Catholic Christian Jerusalem IS important to me, however, I know darn well that it was the Jewish promise land way before Jesus came in the scene and especially before Mo had his dream and flew to Jerusalem making it a holy site for Muslims.
