Vikings-Packers reaction: Darnold spoils Jordan Love's return, Minnesota 4-0 | Richard Sherman NFL

Richard Sherman reacts to Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season. The Minnesota Vikings remain undefeated as they held off a Jordan Love-led comeback, beating the Green Bay Packers 31-29 at Lambeau Field. Sam Darnold's MVP case is gaining steam after the NFL passing touchdowns leader connected with Justin Jefferson for the fourth time in as many games. How far can these Vikings go? Did Jordan Love in his first game back from injury look like he could help the 2-2 Packers catch Minnesota in the NFC North standings?

Richard is 100% correct about scheme. Under Zimmer, the Vikings ran a 4-3 defense. Under KOC they run a 3-4. Under Donatell, they clearly didn't have the right personel. Flores came in and they let him have a say on players. Their defense looked really good at times last year. This off-season they got players that perfectly fit in the Flores scheme. A number of his former players are on board. I love Danielle Hunter, but he is a 4-3, hand in the dirt, edge rusher. Instead of paying him, they brought in 2 guys who are better all around 3-4 LBs in Van Ginkle and Greenard. They brought in Cashman at LB. On the DL Tillery and Bullard have been amazing, and Harrison Philips was already good. They brought in Jihad Ward as a puzzle piece, and Pat Jones has been wrecking havoc. Finally they bring in Gilmore and Griffin at CB. I was expecting a top 10 defense because I understood what they were doing. I didn't expect them to be THIS good. For me the biggest question was Darnold. I said if he can play, this is the year to find out. I said if he can play like Baker and Geno, the Vikings could win 9 or 10 games and be in the playoff picture. And I was laughed out of almost every room when I said this stuff...

And TJ Hockenson will bring in that lite receiving TE in a few games time

That McKinney interception was BS. He was bobbling it out of bounds, clearly didn't have possession, and the refs didn't even bother reviewing it. The 4th & 1 that got turned over 3 yards from the end zone on the Vikings was BS also. They clearly got it and the refs didn't bother with that one either. Otherwise Vikings likely have a touchdown more than they ended up with, maybe two. At the least a field goal on the "interception" one.

Vikings have been coming, Kwesi (GM) was cooking all off season! Been watching Vikings football for 40 years this is the most complete team…

Just outstanding analysis by Richard Sherman once again. Keep the MN Vikings content coming — they are truly special. It’s refreshing to see you guys focus on the facts of whose actually “best” instead of rambling on about the useless Cowboys like the mainstream media does 🙌🏽🙌🏽

We small market cities appreciate it greatly. And yes, the Darnold story is incredible

National media predicted last place and a 1st overall pick!!! Lol like RS said…unless you follow the team you only see the high level view…

Vikings just won 13 games the year before last and were probably going to have a similar record last year if Cousins and JJ doesn’t get hurt so early in the season. They got better on defense and got healthy across the roster. Maybe NOT 4-0 but anyone that pays attention to football already knew the Vikings would be a problem with some decent QB play

I appreciate the appreciation. The first time I've watched and gratuity is always the best introduction to someone... without pads on.

Before the season started I said that ...

1) Sam Darnold is a dark horse QB everyone is ignoring. Just needed the right coaches around him.

2) Minnesota's defense was greatly underappreciated with what Flores did with it over the off-season.

Picked the Vikings to run away with the NFC North. Detroit and Green Bay are average. Chicago is Chicago. All those fans talked crap about the Vikings. Have nothing to say now do you?

Minnesota will only get better offensively as the season goes on. They are very, very scary. It's a long season. We'll see what happens.

Sherman calling out the organizations. Love it.

U would think at 4-0 come Monday the Vikes would've been more celebrated and talked about by the media and talk shows more than these other teams. Now if they would've lost or Darnold looked bad, they the talk all day. Smh

I’m so hyped everybody’s finally seeing what USC fans saw and what a lot of people forgot about Sam. I always believed in Sam’s talent, but the infrastructure wasn’t there. Carolina is the most dysfunctionally-run organization in the NFL and nobody succeeds with the Jets.

The Jets are a revolving door for quarterbacks. Jacksonville extended Trevor Lawrence, the Giants extended Daniel Jones, etc. Meanwhile, the Jets get a new quarterback every 2-3 years and blame those quarterbacks when the team fails. Look at Brett Favre, Joe Flacco, and Aaron Rodgers. All Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks who “failed” at the Jets.

Then you take a 21/22-year-old kid straight out of college and start him right away and expect greatness and wonder why you go 3-13(14).

Top 5 offense last year (remember only had kirk for 8gms- so it wasn't just replacing kirk) Nailor healthy, brings the Wr up to 5 good(incl powell)add in Jones to soldify running gm
Question can Darnold be solid✔️
The defense was shallow but good, ran out of gas, CB were light, lose big piece Hunter, but got a lot of blue chips in return more versatile deeper defense for Flores....add in Gilmore to solidfy one side of corner
Weigh the facts weigh potential less = success

If the Vikings continue to win and end up winning the division. The Packers may have been instrumental and helping us do that.

Love Jones! Though it’s a business and it’s not a matter of if it’s a matter of when he’ll get hurt. He missed another 6 games last year.

Can you imagine what the Vikings would be like if they had drafted better in 2022? The refs blew the call on the interception of Darnold. The replay clearly shows that the ball was being juggled around as he went out of bounds.

The you were the best corner next to Sanders that I got to watch... and this Vikings Team is the most complete Team in the NFL sailing into their enemies coast with shock and awe... Flores has 17 variations and 4 thousand variations in real time for any opposing offense I think we can beat anyone we just can't overlook ANYONE.. one play at a time one first down at a time one pbu and sack at a time and one touchdown at a time.. cut ✂️ down on the mistakes and lay waste to them #SKOL2THEBOWL 🏆

Mad respect for you, Richard Sherman. Kevin O’Connell is the Quarterback Whisperer, and the team/coaches have mad respect for each other.
