LOVETHEO'CONNOR I had the honor of meeting Donald O'Connor in 1972. My mother had taken me to a fundraiser and he was there to help boost the donations from that room full of women. My mother had told him that I know how to tap dance and they asked me to come up front. I didn't want to at first but mom insisted. They introduced him to me and then he asked me if he showed me a few steps could I repeat them with him and I said yes. So we got to do a short dance sequence with him. Afterwards they gave me an autographed picture of him. At the time it was no big deal I had no clue who he was if I would have known who he was I would have been more excited about it instead of kind of shy even though I had preformed on the stage for years. I started at a young age of ballet and then moved into tap and Jazz also. I really wish I would have had a video of that dance I got to perform Donald O'Connor it would be a very cherished memory for me I could share. Singing in the Rain is one of my favorite movies. His performance during the song "Make Em Laugh" was physically exhausting to him I no he must have been devastated when they told him that it got accidentally erased and he had to do it all over again. Running up the wall and doing a flip always impressed me I can't remember anybody else ever doing that. He was a very talented man and they don't make them like that anymore he could act, sing, dance and do acrobatic routines. He and Gene Kelly are the only ones I've ever seen performing a dance on roller skates and make it look so easy. Those old heavy four wheel skates that you strapped onto your shoes and then use the key to tighten them down it was hard enough just to skating on them but to be able to make the dance look so flawless and easy very impressive.
the copyright infringement is why your movies get deleted you can go back and download them and make small changes. there is a lot of movies out there now if you take part of it and speed it up or slow it down you'll be able to post the movies. I would love to see more of his movies so please give it a try. You really did do a good job on his biography thank you I really enjoyed it.

Thank you for this video. He left behind a legacy of wonderful memories. To me, he was the greatest entertainer and dancer of our time. He had no limits and did it All. Simply a wonderful man.

Okay, 'Sad, Blossom' I can see why you are particularly proud of this especial tribute-very nicely done with some rare images and Donald's own composition to back it all-but an entire YT channel devoted to him? Ah, me, oh unfair iniquities!  : )

An excellent tribute, my friend. I loved the comment, "he ONLY made four films between 1947 and 1949". That's four more than I made!
