Installing vinyl siding quickly and efficiently

This is @thesidingguy ‘s video using our patent pending siding adapter. Youll see him wiggling the pieces almost every piece to show free movement of the siding as the nails arent set tight. Here are his words on this video:
This video shows my thought process as I side a wall with a few different sections. I start out with the longest pieces first. The first section is over 11’, then I put in the little pieces to carry the siding lines to the corner using smaller pieces I’ve saved from earlier. Next up is the 9’ section, checking around the corners to make sure the lines are matching. I know that I have many 3’ pieces to install around the other corner, so I’ll save the waste from the 9 footers for that.

Doing the largest section first minimizes waste and ensures that the siding lines don’t creep.

No, I don’t wiggle the siding unless I’m videoing to show siding movement. This video shows how consistent the siding adapter on the roofing nailer actually is as I’m wiggling almost every single piece.

I know I’ll get comments saying “your lines don’t match” as I’ve gotten that comment in many other videos. For those people wanting to make that comment - it’s called “camera perspective”. Watch the video til the end which shows the lines matching when looking at it straight on and not from an angle.

I hope this video gives you a bit of perspective for the next time you have to tackle a task with many different lengths of materials. Try to think “big picture” to minimize waste and to make the job a little bit easier in the end.

By the way, doesn’t siding look fun? I find it fun most days 😂

I remember yrs ago we sided a house down the jersey shore. It was vinyl siding but the fin was mesh net that was installed with roofing guns that got nailed tight and the net gave it the movement needed. I only seen and worked with it on that home and never seen it again. I don't remember which brand it was..i was just a employee back then and didn't pay any attention to the brands. Im guessing it wasn't the next best thing but it did seem like a good idea at the time and that home was right on the bay so there was some serious winds blowing through there. But i guess with these new tips it's basically the new and improved way

I don’t think you should use a nail gun because the nail do not supposed to go all the way in

Where can I buy this pre-cut siding. It sure would speed up my siding jobs if I could skip the cutting step.

@sidingtips how big of an issue down the line if there's no side to side movements in the siding. I installed a small section and then realized what I did wrong. Thanks!

I’m new to siding and how do u know the siding is level and not crooked when you don’t even check and just put the nail in

You should check your corner lines every few runs. Looks like you're off an 1/2 inch.

Does that nail gun leave enough room for the vinyl to eco and?

I can’t get my nails to consistently go through the nail holes on the siding. Are you using a special type of nail? Sometimes mine shoot ABOVE the holes and obliterate the nailing fin.
