Honestly that makes for a more interesting system if you know any of the history of Son Wukong. Plus it makes for a more enjoyable playthrough since most people, after beating a difficult game 3 times in a row, will want to play around and see how far they can push mechanics or builds. I think it was a smart choice by the devs all in all
