N channel enhancement MOSFET as a switch
Показать описание
An N-Channel Enhancement mode MOSFET will switch a light ON or OFF in this simple design. A MOSFET needs to be operated in the cut-off and linear (or triode) area in order to function as a switch.
Assume the device is turned off at first. The MOSFET enters the linear zone when the voltage across the Gate and Source, or VGS, is made sufficiently positive. At this point, the switch is turned ON. The Light turns ON as a result of this.
The MOSFET reaches the cut-off state and turns off if the input Gate voltage is 0V. The light will thereafter go off as a result of this.
