Drilling or cutting angled or slanted holes in glass bottles, mason jars, wine bottles, flower vases, tea pots, china plate, ceramic jug and coffee mugs is way easier than you think! These cheap glass cutting bits makes it super easy and quick to do. Drilling glass can take forever if you have the wrong bit and the glass can shatter if you use too much pressure. If you're making a lamp or drainage hole for a plant this method makes cutting holes, slanted or straight, in glass, ceramics and pottery a breeze. You can cut angled and slanted holes in glass in less than 60 seconds with these bits.
When cutting glass, be sure to wear safety glasses and gloves.
These bits will NOT cut tempered glass.
Use a cordless drill if possible.
Use caution when using an electric drill.

What a nice feeling to have a YouTuber say "you see those? They were already there." And have 100% certainty that it is a true statement.

I did not believe this would actually work. I often fine items at yard sales thrift shops etc that I think would make nice planters. I would use the old fashion glass drill bit to drill holes. I saw this video and ordered these bits. I am the hole drilling queen. The water bottle idea is amazing. I had no idea that would work. I am so happy I came across this video. Forget ever paying full price for planters again. I make planters from anything now. Any cute jar I fine is instantly a planter. Thanks so much.

You've thought of everything. You are a great teacher. Very patient. You don't talk too fast and you show mistakes if they occur.
And, isn't it a win when you find a great item for a great price!?!

This is what YouTube was made for. You share your idea and knowledge, you show how it's done, you are concentrated on the topic, no useless intro or annoying music. Wonderful!
I use these drill bits with a drill press to cut flat holes (with a bottom) into old bricks, to accept those candles with a metal potty around them. Works as a charm.

Chris, I think I appreciated the water cooling technique as much as the glass/pottery hole drilling tutorial. You really are the pop bottle guru. ;)

great teaching.
its good to note that the water is not only good for cooling, but to reduce dust. glass dust is something you want to avoid breathing in. ☺️

Try adding a felt/foam/rubber pad to the drill itself to prevent a harsh collision with the glass after you’ve drilled through.

What an absolute legend this man is. First he made smoking machine and spend ton of money on weed and cigarettes to show what it does to lungs. Than he made a video to show benefits of vape over smoking, and now he dropped two parts of pro tips and tricks of cutting holes in glass.

Fanatastic!! You're a genius!!
Notable points:
1. Glass and ceramic REALLY do take long to fashion.
2. I LOVE your water cooling method: classic easy-fix answer, v efficient!! Well done!!
3. I LOVE your guide tips. These are very important and actually mean the different between making the project do-able or impossible.
4. It's a FANTABULOUS way of turning old chipped basins, bowls, wide glasses and jars into PLANT POTS!!
I would see that possible as the no. 1 usage for the idea!!

Anyway thanks!! Great tips to help your society and we appreciate it highly. You deserve the little bit of financial reward from the vids. Hope it is substantial enough!!
God bless you :)

Most of the comments I saw on Amazon clearly came from people who didn't watch this video! Thank you Chris for making it all so clear!

I did this today! A big problem though ... I ran out of pots that needed holes. Had to go get some from my sister. Too much fun!

I'm always looking for ways to use what I've got laying around, and this idea is genius.

I went to Home Depot and did not find a diamond drill bit. I did find a small one, which is the size I needed, at Lowe's for $19.95. I used your technique and it worked like a champ! Thank you!!
