Thx for this, I've been trying 500 ways to set up my portable (B&D) work bench to do this but almost had to "freehand" it, which meant subpar cuts (not a pro). Seeing as how you're doing exactly what I need (bevel the end of a plank to 45°) using a simple square, I just ordered one yesterday, I think that's the trick - didn't think of that! One thing I don't like about my handsaw, the handle for the cutting guard is on the left but the bevel is slanted down to the right. Therefore the handle keeps hitting the wood and messing up my line - it would be great if they put it on the other (right) side. Other than that I'll give this a go. Thanks for the demo.
