You’re worried about getting the perfect miter on the quarter round with that dog shit joint on the baseboard with the 1/2” of caulk in it?

I'll just eye ball it, and run up to home depot a few times buying trim and wasting money like a real homeowner

I use an angle finder. 180 minus whatever that angle is (160 for example) divided by 2 and I make 10 degree cuts and it’s perfect.

This approach is MONEY! Thanks for sticking to the point and sharing ONLY what's needed in a very concise video. YOU THE MAN!

To everyone that's saying it's 22.5 is wrong. Those two wall are not perpendicular.

Or you can just use the t-bevel for what it's made for. Set it at the angle make a mark on a random board find how many degrees that is with your speed square, cut that in half and that's what you set your miter box

Dudes got the tool that tells you the angle. Wtf?

For $13 buy an angle protractor. They are dead accurate. It gives you three readings: the total angle, it gives you the miter saw setting for miter cuts and the saw setting for single cuts. If you want to understand the correlation between angles and miter saw settings there are YT vids that explain it. If you set your saw on 30 degrees you’re cutting a 60 degree angle not 30. Do some homework and then it will all make sense. Especially when you have severe acute angles to cut.

We use snips for quarter round. And that's a 22 1/2.

I personally *LOVE* the miter saw protractors for anything dealing with crown or any kind of trim on a project. They’re very inexpensive, usually no more than $20, and have always given me accurate results. The only gripe I have about them over a standard t-bevel is that you can’t lock them into place. I haven’t had any issues with that so far, but it would make a nice feature.

In my experience, most soft angles like that are around 22.5 °... maybe 8 times out of 10. Start there with some scrap pieces until you exact it...

Starrett angle finder is hands down the best one in my opinion

You took the long way home. Great video for a retired D.I.Y'er with nothing to do

Or just put and angle finder in the corner and divide by 2.

Why do people put quarter round in front of their baseboards? It looks strange.

I use a protractor and divide the angle by 2, works every time

is divide by 2 that much harder for contractors?
