3 Tips before jumping into Storm league: Rank up quickly.

Storm League is upon us and ranks are a bit bizarre. GMs placing in plat, plats placing in masters. Bronze placing in gold.

I will add something else that works for me. If the team has their own plan and don't listen to me, I try to understand them and follow. Better to do something less optimal together than split.

Going into this season I was plat 3 in HL and plat 5 in TL. Went 6-4 in placements and landed in Diamond 4. 3 years of grinding up from silver and it finally went my way 🤣 .

I will say your videos helped me climb a lot faster. Lots of anub, varian, and etc. Keep up the good content!

A tip that has proven useful for me: when I see ppl starting to complain about other players, without constructive criticism (such as saying "gg healer"), I type "mute the toxic", and sometimes I even mute those complainers for myself too. Then I don't get distracted with pointless discussions and can focus on the actual game.

Another way I found effective is "Vall, at 1:00 could you get our seige? I'll help you with bruisers there after." Instead of Demanding an order. A lot of people have strong Egos and biting the bullet, playing into their mindset, actually saves games.

I've had a few games where players are just rude in the beginning, but as soon as they get a kill or do something great, I commend them for it and make them feel great. It almost always turns out well for me. Just a little side note. Take it or leave it, I"m sure NotParadox already knows this ha, but for ne1 else out there.

I do this a lot, but in Gold and lower this doesn't work out most of the time :(
People forget the plan and don't react even if I remind them in time.
I remember one specific game, with this conversation (I think it was on sky temple):

Me: "Valla and Malf, pls go for bot camp at 2.30.
Then we should all go for top temple."
Valla: "Okay, we will do."

2.35 no camp started, yet...
Me: "Valla, camp, pls. :)"
2.50 no camp started, yet...
Me: "Top temple pls!"

3.00 two people fighting mid, three people fighting top.

This can be a bit frustrating sometimes.

I find so many trolls in Bronze that just don't care if they win or lose (or worse, derive fun from ruining others games), that although I agree with most of your advice, I find that it's not truly pertinent because there are just too many of them. Having even 1 troll on your team is enough to cause a loss. Mid to low silver, this dissipates some. I try to lead and make suggestions "valla, please grab camps at 1:00", but inevitably they do WTF they want and ignore me, or worse, become toxic immediately and start name calling. It almost seems impossible to solo out of Bronze. My advice to those trying to rank up is to not solo. Choose 1-2 friends that you play well with and play with them. This lowers the chances of a troll, while gaining two teammates that are on the same page as you.

on the first pick I'd rather go "valla, could you do siege camp at 1:00?" and then a "ty" if she listens. Here it sounds more like an order, I totally get what the snarky response comes from (though I wouldn't do it)

I have a question. Most seasons I go 7 wins and 3 losses average at the 10 placements. This season I’m 2 wins 9 losses. I’ll admit there were a few games I played off and I’ll take learning from the games(replays etc), but storm league feels really wonky right now, as I seem to be getting more potato team mates than the other team in Gold rank really bad. What should I do when no one listens and won’t properly fill their roll. I am stopped playing storm league. The 16% win rate is the worst I have ever had all the way from preseason beta to now. This is just bad.
