Yes - an owner of property can commit both theft as well as mischief of its own property because both these concepts are related to possession of property and not about ownership .

Yes. Owner if a property can commit theft in his own property. If the owner has leased the property to a tenant and when the tenant is in POSSESSION of the property, then the real owner, if he commits theft, he shall be liable. & yes, the owner can also commit mischief. Eg : owner insured his house against fire for 20, 000k and intentionally burns his house to get 2, 50, 000 rs claim to rebuild his property.
