As a brazillian i'd like to say Portugal is my favorite country on earth, the culture, the language, the architecture, the people, the food, the weather, the safety, i can't describe what i feel when i see those landscapes, the city, the mountains, the rivers, the castles, the beaches, i feel something in my heart.

Nothing like seeing Portugal through the eyes of a foreigner to be reminded how beautiful this country is ❤ Thank you ❤

"Ever since I've arrived here, my Portuguese friends told me..." is what makes the difference between a tourist and a visitor. While the tourists stay in their resort with fellow citizens, familiar food and guided tours, visitors come in respect & appreciation, make new friends- and learn to know the really amazing places.

Portugal is truly the world's living museum. It's amazing that so much beauty, history, culture and varied landscapes can be found in such a tiny nation, all within a stone's throw from the ocean.

i AGREE WITH YOU DAVE...PORTO is my new sweet spot in the world! I live in beautiful Maui, and we have a very large Portuguese population here on the islands... after visiting Madeira and Azores for the first time, I understand why the Portuguese fell in love with our beloved Hawaiian islands. Truly, Portugal is the paradise of the Atlantic! Obrigado for your fantastic video and Mahalo for the island of Maui... come visit soon, Dave, Mai Tais on the beach on me! Saude!

Dave, that was an incredible video. As an American, living in Europe, I really appreciate it. I am really considering retiring in Portugal and you really hit some great places, of which I was unaware. I must also compliment you on your Portuguese pronunciations as they seem quite good. It is an educational opportunity for English speakers to learn the proper way of speaking the language rather than bastardizing it into an English way. When you move to a country, you should adapt. Thanks again.

We were in Portugal a few weeks back. Batalha and Tomar ( husband 's family home town) were 2 stops we made and I can say were absolutely stunning. I love the regional towns so much.

Man, at the first minutes, if i didn't knew it was a Dave in Portugal video, i thought i was watching some top notch BBC Our World content.
You're delivering top quality content in here 👌.
From video capture, sound design to each region, and your portuguese keeping better and better, i dunno which one i should say you improved the most.
Big congrats and thank you for letting us being a little bit more proud of this little corner of the world. 🇵🇹❤️

The way you pronounced "Aljubarrota" was indicating of how hard you tried to say it right. And I appreciate how hard that word can be to pronounce correctly to an American.
As a Portuguese, I have to congratulate you on both the effort put in learning Portuguese as well as making an effort towards having a very good pronunciation.
Also, awesome video you put up here. It is amazing how a small country (geographically speaking) like Portugal has so much to offer and it can vary so much between east, west, north and south.
Stay safe and keep making this awesome content.

Nice job, Dave! Good to see some lesser-mentioned towns. I almost literally stumbled across Batalha last summer, and almost had a heart attack when I rounded the bend and beheld the Monastery! Truly mindblowing.

Most excellent video! I typically watch YouTube on TV with no way to leave comments. Had to hop on my phone to say, “THANKS for including parts of Portugal that are not typically found on YouTube!” Love your channel, man! I’m from the Pacific Northwest and while most travelers / expats are looking at southern PT, I’m interested in the NORTHERN region. Would love to see more on that if you are so inclined. Thanks again!!!

I'm from Porto! But now I'm abroad! And hearing that your favorite city in the whole world is Porto made me miss my homeland even more! I'm very happy that you love my city!

I am portuguese and after graduating from college in Portugal I went for a Ph.D. in an american University. I went in September 1972 and I returned in February 1991. In fact I not only studied there but I also taught. I enjoyed my stay, I had the opportunity to travel in the US, Canada and Mexico from North to South and from the Atlantic to the Pacific. What a joy! What a privilege!
