Imagine how many aliens are living there

Imagine the thing holding all that together with gravity

Still mind blowing that We haven't discovered more what the universe is hiding out there.

So I can't drive my Ford Pinto from end to end quickly.

Big Think: `While IC 1101 still holds the record for the largest galaxy in terms of the extent of its stars, Alcyoneus is 230% as long as measured from end-to-end.`

My tiny brain cells are shaking like jello trying to absorb this! 😮

I no longer believe we are alone. And I believe we can never meet up for the sheer size of this universe. Maybe for the better.

Even IC 1101 is only a small grain of sand in the filaments of galaxys that make up the universe

Ic 1101: I'm the largest galaxy😎

The Alcyoneus galaxy (16.3 million LY across🤯):you're not even close

Funny how things just look like cells within cells and those galaxy filaments look like neurons.

This video deserves a sub just because I love space.

People who don’t know is that ic 1101 Is not the biggest thing it’s alcyoneus A radio galaxy, Just Like Hercules a, there are some other galaxies you know, 3C 326 Markarian 501.

Alcyoneus is a massive radio galaxy 3 billion light-years away that reaches 5 megaparsecs into space. This structure, which is 16.3 million light-years long, is the largest known structure of galactic origin.

Giant radio galaxy Alcyoneus is now the largest known galaxy in the Universe. Move over, IC 1101.

Finally someone said "in the known Universe" instead of "in the Universe"

Now my question is.... what size is the black hole that holds all that? 💀

Recently they said that they severely underestimated the size of the Milky Way and it is about the same size as Andromeda so it's actually about 200, 000 light years across and recent estimates said it has probably 800 billion stars. Even so the Galaxy is still 20 times bigger than the Milky Way

What's insane is the numbers of galaxies in just the observable universe 🤯

It appears to be an elliptical galaxy rather than spiral. I believe that means it is ancient in comparison with our own

FUN FACT: We have more neural pathways in our brains than the Milky Way has stars, BUT for every star you see in the sky, for every star in our galaxy there is another galaxy in the universe. Literally hundreds of billions of galaxies with some of the smallest (The Milky Way) having hundreds of billions of stars in them. Existence is enormous.

the milky way is about 600, 000 trillion miles
