After the revelation he'd been fined by police for breaking lockdown rules, Boris Johnson remains apologetic, but defiant.

Conservative MP Nigel Mills, who previously said the Prime Minister should go over the scandal, reaffirmed his view that Mr Johnson's position was untenable.

Cabinet colleagues including Transport Secretary Grant Shapps have given him their backing.

Cabinet colleagues are no better than the ones they are defending. What an example of democracy to the world. And they go around telling other countries what to do.

Made a mistake who threatened ordinary citizens with £10s of thousands and possible jail time

I thought that the PM's apology, which had clearly been cleverly written for him, was insincere and the words uttered did not reflect his body language It was intended to enable him to weasel out of the mess, but certainly could not be described as a real or sincere act of contrition . However, it demonstrates once again his narcissism and the real contempt he has for the British people and parliament.

Real apologies don't need to be read from a piece of paper and constantly referred back to every 3 words. An apology from a lawyer, is what that was.

If Boris will not quit they need to have a vote of no confidence and have him out, are the British public so whipped in line that we are not demanding him to resign after he set the law, broke the law, lied about, then said guidelines was followed then they never had a party it was just "cheese and wine" while the rest of the country followed the rules, guidelines and laws put in place, while people could see dying family members or attend family's funerals, it's a disgrace.
