Here’s the prompt for today’s Messy May.

Messy May is the daily-ish journaling challenge for imperfect creatives.

👩‍🎨 ABOUT THE ARTIST 👩‍🎨

Katie is a mixed media artist living in the south of England, right by the forest. Nature constantly inspires her work and you’ll find it hard not to find a botanical in any of her journal pages! She has many creative hobbies but journaling has always been a constant; starting out with scrapbooking and morphing into travel journaling, junk journaling and daily pages in her hobonichi.

✨ ABOUT GET MESSY ✨

Get Messy is an online art journaling school that teaches you to cultivate your creativity. Without perfection. You’ll always be welcome in – messy mind, paint plops, charcoal smudges, ink-stained fingertips and all.

Zero expectations. Zero pressure. All the fun.

as a scientist w ADHD, if i don't do this, the executive dysfunction of preparing for a large art session would keep me crippled on the couch. i live by myself and i love the fact that my art corners (painting, collaging/monoprinting, sewing) are left untouched and i can come back to them whenever i want.
preparing for a nebulous art session is so daunting when you have ADHD. it truly feels like being taunted for not being able to have a good time w things that are guaranteed to cause a good time.
