THAT must really make America feel pretty bloody awkward really..."it cost less to get to Mars orbit than for America to make the film "Gravity" !!! I dont care what anybody says, that is one hell of an achievement!!!

Our culture of being kind, trustful and gentle made us fools and we became slaves, but the day is not far when India will rise again and like in its history be the best in this world.  We gave the world its first sword, the metal technology, the number system, the first medicine lessons, the solar clock, and many more and we will continue to give many more in the future.

does the anchor woman want to say that due to poverty all the development works should be stopped and Indian govt should only focus on providing food and shelter to the poor people??? this is ridiculous !! when US has sent Apollo there were poverty percentage of about 13% in US. But US didn't stop the mission for the sake of the poors. A country should focus in every sphere of development that will lead the next generations to build a powerful and strong nation. Space research will give mych more benefits to India in long run. India will become self reliant on weather based forecasting for better agricultural production as well as in the field of defence. India's version of GPS called as NAVIC will have both civil and military use. And if we Indians become self reliant on this sphere we can introduce hi tech farming, better internet service, strong network based future warfare etc. Also India is already gaining profit from commercial sattelite launches as the price is competitive. So why should India not investing in space research ?

For those isiots whoa are saying it was just meant to orbit mars, Here is the list of sensors and their functions:

1. Lyman-Alpha Photometer (LAP) – a photometer that measures the relative abundance of deuterium and hydrogen from Lyman-alpha emissions in the upper atmosphere. Measuring the deuterium/hydrogen ratio will allow an estimation of the amount of water loss to outer space.
2. Methane Sensor For Mars (MSM) – will measure methane in the atmosphere of Mars, if any, and map its sources.
3. Mars Exospheric Neutral Composition Analyser (MENCA) – is a quadrupole mass analyser capable of analysing the neutral composition of particles in the exosphere.
4. Thermal Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (TIS) – will measure the temperature and emissivity of the Martian surface, allowing for the mapping of surface composition and mineralogy of Mars.
5. Mars Colour Camera (MCC) – will provide images in the visual spectrum, providing context for the other instruments.

Please do some research before commenting like a stupid..

If you want to work for CNN or BBC from India, know how you can take "poverty in India" to downplay/criticise India's technological advancements.

NASA's Budget is always high. They should Learn from India, how to develop things at Low Cost for a Mission.

Rich and developed countries have always discouraged India from progress, be it in the name of environmental hazards, pollution or now its space program, but if one explores deep then will find that these same nations are responsible for India's poverty and that India has a very long history of achievement and we do not need help of these so called developed countries in achieving our goals.

Every time India achieve something there will be always a cry from these jealousy people. Could have spent on this that bla... bla.. as if we are not spending on this issues. You can see people everywhere in America holding sign boards saying 'Homeless' 'Hungry' in intersections, stoplights. People ask money in the gas station.  So we know how to spend our money, you jealousies just shut  up.
