My brother did this for five years after being a marine. He killed himself in April. This shit is more gruesome than being a marine in the front line of Afghan

I was a contractor for 10 years and i made more my first year doing contractor work than i did in my 20 years in the USMC.

45k for 90 days was a LOW wage during the height of it in Iraq. 250-300k+ a year was pretty normal for experienced dudes back in '09

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most PROFITABLE, surly the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope.c - Major General Smedley Butler

A lot of soldiers/Marines got to chill in the palaces. Everyone had their American flags draped out of the windows. Today, it's crazy to know that he was just chilling at home and then got jacked for his country for doing nothing! ALL LIES! Karma is a universal law. As a veteran, I'm just watching this play out from Thailand. Hopefully, I won't have to return to the US to help protect my family. Things never seem to change.

500$ a day? To get shot at? There’s lineman on storm right now making double that. That’s not enough to do what they do.

As always corporate greed drove those rates down every year. At the start of the war a PMC from a modern military could make $1000+ a day. years went on, market got saturated, ex soldiers and civilians from poorer countries would do the work for cheaper, $500/day became $250. Now it can be as low as $100/$150.

He is telling the truth. My water section's mission was purifying the water to fill the pool in the Water Palace located in Tirkit.

If he didn’t add that he was playing Snake on his old phone - then this story wouldn’t have add any validity

We make more than that in my trade, sleep in my bed and not be in a war zone.
