The Kia Niro Hybrid has 139 HP. Somehow I had 135 HP for it in this video. PHEV niro has 180 HP and EV niro has 201 HP. Cheers!

I have the ES hybrid (2022) and LOVE it. Extremely fuel efficient, lots of features, dependable, etc. Only way to improve it is make it PHEV and AWD.

I’d go Camry hybrid. More roomy and similar mpg to the Prius but the interior looks more normal

Lots going on with the Prius... including the price... it’s very expensive, if you compare it to a corolla hybrid.

Hybrid systems excel in urban driving. They do spectacularly well on fuel economy in the city but not nearly so well on the highway. It would be good so see a breakdown on relative economy of these cars in the city vs on the highway. That allows people to judge which would be better for their typical mix of city vs highway driving.

Hey Kirk, thanks for another great video! Yes, I do hate buying gas, but not only paying for it, also the inconvenience of it as well. Therefore, I am looking for a vehicle with the most range. Currently, I am leaning toward the 2023 Lexus RX350h, which with its 37 mpg and large tank has a range over 600 miles! Have you considered doing a video of the vehicles with the greatest range? Would be interested to see! Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Anything from Toyota. Period. End of story. No competition. Better than everything ever.

I actually am waiting for the Prius to be available to preorder. But I am interested in Plug in Hybrids you should totally do a video about that as well!

You are the go to for buying a new vehicle, we were almost going to get the RDX until your review in south Florida explaining fuel economy and air conditioning. We got the venza instead

Kirk, So many of these high mpg cars are now low slung sedans/liftbacks which severely impacts practicality. The body shape of the Niro makes it a real standout. I hope Toyota comes to market with its outstanding new Hybrid drivetrain installed in something sensibly shaped like the Niro.

Camry hybrid gets how many mpg?! plus that acceleration? it looks good & aggressive to boot!

Prius is crushing it but to have AWD is peak for snowy areas (all they need is protective undercoating for rust prevention = bullet proof road trips)

Agree with the 2023 Prius taking the crown. However, due to availability, looking at the 2023 Corolla Hybrid SE and the Elantra Hybrid Blue. What are your thoughts b/w the two to help make a decision?

Lexus ES HYBRID is the value for luxury and premium grade midsize sedans.

So would it be better to put the 17's on a higher level trim Prius to get the better mpg?

The one that most impressed me was the Honda Accord with 44 MPG and its super quiet engine & no clutter under the hood. But I wouldn't trade in my Rav4 hybrid for it. Before my Rav4 hybrid I had a 2018 Honda Insight which got me up to 75 MPG (Imperial) during the summer months & the engine was ultra quiet also. I traded it for the Rav4 because it was way too low to the ground for my liking and no spare tire or towing capability.

If you add reliability in your needs (but only smart shoppers do this), then Hyundai/Kia are out from this list. Mazda will soon enter this list.

I'll take the ES300h purely for the luxury. I may have to go drive one! If the Prius hadn't compromised interior space so much (head room, cargo space), I'd be down with it.

Been watching every new video of yours related to the Prius. I feel like the only huge disadvantages are the lack of room and cargo, but it doesn’t seem too bad.

I’m waitlisted for the Prime, with fuel economy + the new sexy look being what I’m really after anyway. 40 mile range all electric sounds great for a plug-in hybrid.
