In my house we have 6 kiddos. 3 who are 14, 13, and 12. And 3 more who are 7, 4, and 1. And nest has been amazing to us providing Outdoor Cameras, WiFi, Googles for the big kids rooms, and Baby monitors for the Littles rooms. And There latest feature, the Nest protect. It has also helped my 7 year old daughter get over her fear of Fire, knowing that this device will keep her safe at night, but always give a warning before making the loud noises.
