"Let's Go Fly a Kite" is a song from the 1964 Disney musical film "Mary Poppins". When George Banks (David Tomlinson) realizes that his family is more important than his job, he mends his son's kite and takes his family on a kite-flying outing. The song is sung by Tomlinson, Dick Van Dyke, and eventually the entire chorus.

The children were so shocked and happy that their father was finally giving them the attention they needed that they forgot all about Mary Poppins. But like she said, that’s how it should be

End of an era. RIP Richard (1928-2024) and Robert (1925-2012) Sherman. The music will live on forever.

This movie is about the dad. His lack of spending time with his kids and his redemption.❤
God Bless Mr Disney for making this film.

This was a bittersweet moment not just the fact Mr Banks mended the kite but Jane and Michael knew deep down he loves them Xx

This is the scene where we learn that it DOESN’T take much more than tuppence to love something back, Walt Disney was right, The Bird woman was symbolic to the movie, Richard and Robert Sherman are most astounding Disney songwriters of all time. Thank you Walt, Richard and Robert Sherman for telling us the important moral of Mary Poppins, “FAMILY, not money.” Glynis Johns: “I said to Walt, It would be instetive if I could my own little number.”

One of the things that I loved the most about the ending scene was that even Mr. Dawes Jr. and his co-workers had rediscovered their inner child and were all outside flying their own kites, having the time of their lives with everyone else. PS: Michael's expression at 2:16 when he sees Mr. Dawes Jr. and his co-workers flying their kites together kills me. 😆

I just love the understated, satisfied look that Mary Poppins gives at 1:32. It just says 'my work here is done'. Masterful from Julie Andrews.

"I know a man with a wooden leg named Smith." "Really? what's the name of his other leg?" Never forget that joke as long as I live.
